MUMBAI, 1st March 2019: Anil D. Ambani led Reliance Entertainment’s JV with Steven Spielberg and Participant Media won big this past Sunday at the Academy Awards 2019. Green Book – one of the most lauded and critically acclaimed films in recent times won 3 Oscars including the coveted Best Picture. To celebrate it’s victory, Reliance Entertainment is all set to do a release of the film again pan India starting today, Friday March 1, 2019.
“Green Book”, directed by Peter Farrelly, won the coveted Oscar for Best Picture of the Year, along with the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Mahershala Ali, and Best Original Screenplay Oscar for Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie and Peter Farrelly. “Green Book”, was nominated for 5 categories – Best Picture, Best Actor (Viggo Mortensen), Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay & Best Film Editing
Talking about playing the character of Dr Shirley for which he won his 2nd Oscar, Mahershala Ali says, “What really intrigued me about Don Shirley was how complicated he was. There’s so much to pull from in terms of the things he was dealing with, the things he struggled with. I’m thankful to Peter Farelly – by far the most collaborative director I’ve ever worked with – for his leadership and guidance.”
Speaking about his drama debut winning Best Screenplay and Best Picture at the Oscars, Peter Farrelly says, “This story is about love – loving each other despite our differences and find out about the truth of who we are – we’re the same people. And telling this story would not have been possible without Viggo and Mahershala.The film wouldn’t have been released were it not for Steven Spielberg.”
