Mumbai, February 11th, 2020: Reliance Entertainment and Amblin Partners’ 1917, which was nominated in ten categories at the Oscars, has been honored with three awards at the 92^nd Academy Awards, held at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The epic World War 1 drama took home the awards for Best Cinematography, Visual Effects and Best Sound Mixing.

Legendary Cinematographer Roger Deakins, who has been a favorite this award season, won the Best Cinematography Oscar for his phenomenal work in the film. While Mark Taylor and Stuart Wilson won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing, the talented trio of Guillaume Rocheron, Greg Butler and Dominic Tuohy won the Oscar for Visual Effects.

This time, Director Sam Mendes has articulated an original war film that can’t be touched or altered by anyone. Inspired by his grandfather’s stories about World War I, his brilliant take on the lives, spirit and the emotional journey filmed in one-shot is possibly the best war films seen in the decade so far.

This has not only made 1917 the #1 film in the world with big opening numbers at various box offices but also made it a favorite this awards season. The WW1 thriller won seven awards at BAFTA, including Best Picture, Outstanding British Film and Best Director. 1917 had previously won three awards at the Critics’ Choice Awards 2020 for ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Cinematographer’ and ‘Best Editing’. The film also made its mark at the 77th Golden Globes, with an award for Best Picture in the Drama category, and the Best Director’s award for Sam Mendes.

Director Sam Mendes recently won the ‘Best Feature Film’ award at Directors Guild of America Awards and 1917 took home the ‘Best Picture’ award at the Producers Guild of America Awards. Legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins was recognized for his spectacular work in the film with ‘Top Feature’ Award from the American Society of Cinematographers.

DreamWorks Pictures and Reliance Entertainment present, in association with New Republic Pictures, a Neal Street production, produced in association with Mogambo, Sam Mendes film: 1917, starring George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, with Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch. ‘1917’ is directed by Sam Mendes. Mumbai, February 3rd, 2020: Reliance Entertainment and Amblin Partners’ 1917 has won seven awards at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), held last evening at the Royal Albert Hall in London including Outstanding British Film and Best Film and Best Director (Sam Mendes).

The World War 1 thriller, which was nominated in 9 categories at BAFTA, also won awards for Best Cinematography (Roger Deakins), Best Production Design (Dennis Gassner and Lee Sandales), Best Sound (Scott Millan, Oliver Tarney, Rachael Tate, Mark Taylor and Stuart Wilson) and Special Visual Effects (Greg Butler, Guillaume Rocheron and Dominic Tuohy).

Sam Mendes, who is the first British winner of the Best Director BAFTA since Danny Boyle’s 2009 win for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ said, “There’s the personal delight in seeing a story very close to me and my family be developed and enlarged but the massive thing has been audiences going in large numbers.” He added, “None of us knew if an audience would turn up, it wasn’t certain at all. It’s coincided with awards season and the fact this is still number one in the UK after four weeks, [the awards have] really alerted people to the fact the movie is on, it rarely happens like that.”

Inspired by the stories that Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes’ grandfather told him, 1917 has had a dream run this awards season with 10 Oscar nominations, including ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Best Director,’ for the forthcoming 92nd Academy Awards, which is scheduled to be held at 9th February 2020 in Los Angeles.

1917has previously won three awards at the Critics’ Choice Awards 2020 for ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Cinematographer’ and ‘Best Editing’. The film also won accolades at the 77th Golden Globes, with an award for Best Picture in the Drama category, and the Best Director’s award for Sam Mendes.

Reliance Entertainment and Dream Warrior Pictures come together to produce the Hindi remake of the Tamil gripping action flick “Kaithi”

Mumbai, February 3^rd, 2020: Reliance Entertainment join hands with S. R. Prakashbabu, S. R. Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures to jointly produce the remake of 2019’s Tamil blockbuster “Kaithi” in Hindi.

“Kaithi”, is a tense action thriller, released last Diwali. The film has grossed huge worldwide box office collections. “Kaithi” also received highly positive reviews from critics and the cast’s stunning performances made it an engaging watch. Lokesh’s direction and the screenplay showcased filmmaking at its best.

Kamal Haasan and Nagarjuna to present 83’s Tamil & Telugu Versions respectively

Kamal Haasan and Nagarjuna are both well-celebrated and multi-faceted personalities and legends of the Indian showbiz. The movies launched by their production and distribution companies have always been special and well acclaimed.

Sam Mendes wins Best Director for ‘1917’ at the prestigious ceremony

Reliance Entertainment will release 1917 in India on 17th January, 2020.

Mumbai, January 6th, 2020: Reliance Entertainment is all set to release the 77th Golden Globes winner in the Best Picture – Drama category, ‘1917’, on January 17, 2020, in India. ‘1917’ was also honored with the Golden Globes award for Best Director for Sam Mendes.

‘1917’ is a World War-I drama that has won the hearts of critics and audiences with Mendes’ technically woven masterpiece involving British soldiers played by George Mackay & Dean-Charles Chapman.

Sam Mendes’ ‘1917’, inspired by his grandfather’s stories, has been applauded and appreciated by audiences during the first week of the limited release in the US. While accepting the award at the glittering Golden Globes ceremony last night, Mendes said, ‘’This is a huge, huge thing for this movie. Mumbai, 11th July 2019: Anil D. Ambani led Reliance Entertainment is releasing the Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 globally on July 12, 2019. The movie is inspired by, and based on, true events from the life of Anand Kumar and his students.

Anand Kumar is one of the most renowned and revered mathematicians in India, who has dedicated his life to coaching underprivileged students for the JEE tests, the gateway to the premier Indian Institutes of Technology.

The film chronicles Anand Kumar’s incredible life journey, starting at a very young age, and his battle against the insurmountable odds of India’s education system. A brilliant student, Anand Kumar, used to regularly travel 6 hours by train from Patna to Varanasi, to access study materials not available in his home town.

In 1994, at the tender age of 21 years, he secured admission to the prestigious University of Cambridge, but could not go to England as he could not arrange funds to pay for the travel. Owing to his father’s untimely demise, and despite being such a brilliant mathematician, Anand was compelled to sell papad (poppadum) on the streets of Patna along with his mother, to make ends meet.

Determined that other brilliant but economically backward children should not have to undergo this fate, in 2002, Anand Kumar initiated his Super 30 educational programme, under which he would prepare 30 underprivileged students for the IIT-JEE, free of cost, every year.

By the year 2018, an unprecedented 422 out of the 480 children, all economically underprivileged, and all coached free of cost by Anand Kumar in his Super 30 classes, had made it to the IITs.

Despite being flooded with offers of financial support for his classes from Governments and private sector giants, Anand Kumar declined all assistance, and instead utilised his own meagre resources to coach his students. Anand’s family also played a key role in his endeavours. His mother, Jayanti Devi would cook for the students, and his brother, Pranav Kumar, would take care of the management.

On the eve of the film’s release, Anand Kumar, said “I’m very happy with the way Super 30 has shaped up. The team has done an incredible job. I hope this film inspires all future generations.”

Commenting on the movie, Hrithik Roshan said, “Anand Kumar’s life is one of the most inspiring and moving stories I’ve ever heard. His story had to be told to the world. I am honoured to have played the on screen role of Anand Kumar.”

Mumbai, June 13, 2019: Anil D. Ambani owned Reliance Entertainment partners with India’s most iconic war film makers, JP Films to develop content and produce three new projects. The projects include two feature films and one web-series. J.P.Dutta’s daughter, Nidhi Dutta, will be spearheading these projects.

A Historical Persian Epic will be directed by J.P. Dutta himself, while the other film, is a biopic set in Kashmir on an Indian Army Officer. The third project is a web series on 21 of India’s bravest War Heroes from the Army, Navy and Air force. This will also mark the debut of JP Films in the web space. The casting of the projects is currently underway.

RELIANCE ENTERTAINMENT AND PVR PICTURES COLLABORATE TO DISTRIBUTE FILMS IN INDIA

Mumbai, May 29, 2019: Anil D. Ambani led Reliance Entertainment, joins hands with PVR Pictures Limited, the motion picture arm of PVR Limited, India’s largest cinema chain, to distribute films pan India. This venture is the first endeavor of its kind in the Indian film industry.

At the onset the companies together will distribute Reliance Entertainment’s upcoming film slate starting with Game Over on 14 th June. This will be followed by Super 30 on 12th July.

Reliance Entertainment has so far produced, distributed and released more than 300 films in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and others.

On the collaboration, Shibasish Sarkar, Group CEO, Reliance Entertainment, said, “We are extremely pleased to associate with PVR as this relationship will be a one of its kind film distribution service in the film industry. The collaboration will not only benefit our existing partnerships but will be extended to other independent filmmakers & production houses to exploit their films to their fullest theatrical potential.”
